About Jamal

Jamal La Rose is an award-winning Guyanese stage actor. He is also a singer, writer, poet and now filmmaker whose passion for the creative world initially surfaced while attending St. Joseph High School and resurfaced during the acting workshops leading up to Carifesta X, 2008. He’s been hooked ever since.

He holds an LL.B., magna cum laude, from the University of Guyana and currently works as a Policy Developer. He wrote, directed and produced his debut film “Apan Jaat: Seriously?” for the inaugural 592 48HR Film Challenge along with the rest of his team: Film Fanatics!
