“PASSAGE,” tells the story of a young woman and her brother fighting for survival while being smuggled into the US on a fishing vessel.
The film is the winner of the DIRECTOR’S CHOICE Award at the 2013 Portland Maine Film Festival. It won the BEST SHORT FILM Award at the 2013 Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival. And was an AWARD WINNER at the 2013 Fort Lauderdale Interntional and Grand Bahama Film Festivals.
The filmmaker was the recipient of the Commonwealth Grant.
Kareem J. Mortimer is a Bahamian filmmaker. His directorial credits include the short film “Float” (07), the documentaries Charted Course (07) and I Am Not a Dummy (09) and the fiction features Children of God (10), which premiered at Miami Film Festival, and Cargo (17).
